Screenings

A screening allows the therapist to obtain an initial impression of a child’s abilities. Screenings should not be used to replace an evaluation, rather help identify a child that would benefit from an assessment and/or therapy services.

Evaluations

A speech-evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of a child’s communication functioning.  An evaluation determines if there is a speech-language disorder affecting a child’s development in the following areas:  receptive language, expressive language, pragmatic language, phonological awareness, articulation, language processing, stuttering and/or voice disorder.

An occupational therapy evaluation assesses a child’s gross motor, fine motor, visual motor, visual perceptual, handwriting, daily living and sensory processing skills.
